How Will COVID and Flu Season Affect Business in Your Office?
Take Healthy Cleaning Precautions to Survive Another Winter of Discontent
Another new year, another winter of dodging a double whammy of COVID-19 and flu season affecting businesses. As if one nasty virus running through your office wasn’t bad enough.
A stringent cleaning and disinfecting regimen may help keep your officemates healthier this year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with the viruses that cause flu or COVID.
An Ounce of Prevention
There are literally billions of reasons to encourage employees to take precautions against the spread of illness in your office and in their homes. Billions of dollars, that is. American workers miss approximately 111 million workdays per year because of the flu. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation estimates that flu season costs businesses more than $16 billion in lost productivity annually.
The CDC recommends that everyone older than 6 months get a flu vaccine, and experts say it is safe to take a flu and COVID vaccine at the same time.
You can remind your employees to frequently wash their hands with soap and water and cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow. In the workplace, workers should wash hands after sneezing or coughing, or use hand sanitizer if they can’t wash their hands immediately. You can help by providing hand sanitizer throughout the office and in common areas such as break rooms and conference rooms.
These simple, tried-and-true measures will help employees lower the risk to themselves, their co-workers and their families.
Step Up Your Cleaning Routine
You also can contribute to keeping employees in your office healthy by increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting. Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services’ goal is to help our clients stay healthy. We offer a variety of healthy cleaning options and disinfection services that can be tailored to your office’s unique needs.
Business owners can select the level of sanitization and disinfection services that meet their needs:
Healthy Clean
Our traditional, high-quality Healthy Clean package cleans and disinfects high-touch surfaces throughout the common areas of your business.
Superior Clean
Our Superior Clean package includes benefits of our Healthy Clean package, in addition to cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces in personal workspaces and offices.
Premium Clean
Our Premium Clean package includes all aspects of our other packages, plus deep cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting hard-to-reach surfaces and other areas of your workplace or facility.
With more people back in an office setting, you may want to consider more frequent high-touch area disinfection and electrostatic disinfection services.
With high-touch area disinfection, Office Pride’s professional cleaners disinfect areas such as doorknobs, light switches, sinks and more by wiping down surfaces with EPA-approved chemicals that kill pathogens that cause illness. Cleaners leave the chemicals on the surface for the recommended time, called “dwell time,” to ensure optimum effectiveness.
Electrostatic disinfection services are ideal for common areas, personal spaces and hard-to-reach corners and crevices in the workplace. Electrostatic sprayers are effective in fighting the spread of germs that cause COVID-19, flu and other respiratory illnesses.
By taking precautions and leveling up your cleaning routine, you can help your office reduce the risks that come with flu season and COVID-19.
