You only have one chance to make a first impression on a customer. And in the world of dental offices, that impression begins the moment they step through your front door. Learning what steps you can take to make your dental office more welcoming can make a difference in a customer’s experience.
Keeping this area clean orderly can help put your patients at ease while also reducing any anxiety they might already have about their appointment.
The waiting rooms of dental offices are high-traffic areas that need constant cleaning attention. It is the first place patients enter your practice and form an instant opinion about your location.
Planning – Where to Begin
A clean reception area can make a significant difference in the perception of your patients. Worn floors, deteriorating upholstery (the crinkly breaking kind that pinches your legs when you sit down), unkempt restrooms, weathered carpet, outdated magazines, fingerprints on windows and reflective surfaces and dirty walls aren’t inviting characteristics that will keep your customers returning.
The first step to solving this issue is partnering with a professional commercial cleaning company to help address your specific needs and complete a thorough and customized cleaning plan. Office Pride Commercial Cleaning offers customizable cleaning services that can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of your dental office. Whether you need daily, weekly or monthly cleaning services, we can create a customized cleaning plan that fits your schedule and budget.
A thorough cleaning of your dental reception area, using advanced cleaning equipment and techniques, will leave it looking and feeling fresh and inviting.
Don’t Neglect Your Floors
The entrance to any business, including dental offices, receives the most wear in its flooring. You want patients to feel comfortable when they enter, and removing clutter and debris from the environment can help them and your employees feel more relaxed.
In this area, carpet cleaning should be done on a regular basis and furniture should always be maintained and in good condition. If you don’t have the carpets at your entrance cleaned regularly, it can cause health problems – especially for patients who have underlying medical conditions that are triggered by certain pathogens.
Professional cleaning can include spot removal, low-moisture deep cleaning, hot water (extraction) deep cleaning and deodorization.
An added benefit of regular carpet cleaning is that it also extends the life of your carpets and ultimately saves the business money over time.
Restroom Cleanliness
If you have a restroom accessible to the patients in your waiting room, you need to keep it presentable even if it doesn’t receive a lot of traffic. Overlooking this can be detrimental to your reputation.
Floors should be clear of any debris, supplies stocked and the toilet and sink should be unclogged and functioning to meet the needs of your patients. Toilet paper, soap, paper towels and trash bags should always be stocked. Using a professional cleaning crew to stay on top of your supply inventory and provide regular cleaning of your office restrooms as part of your customized plan is vital.
