Commercial Cleaning Services – Are They Worth It?
When you’re asked to cut expenses, everyone feels the pinch. But can you afford to cancel your professional commercial cleaning services?
No, you cannot.
One positive aspect that emerged from last year’s COVID-19 pandemic is heightened awareness of the importance of maintaining a clean, healthy and safe workplace. For the sake of your team and customers, it’s vitally important to keep using your professional cleaning company and make sure they are visible to employees and visitors to your office.
Why?
Why should I use professional cleaners?
The word “professional” says it all. Professional commercial cleaning companies like Office Pride train their cleaning crews in the proper usage of equipment and handling chemicals formulated to clean, sanitize or disinfect workplaces. They follow all guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), use chemicals approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and adhere to the recommended dwell times disinfectants must remain on surfaces for maximum effectiveness. Office Pride also has systems in place to help prevent cross-contamination between office areas, such as restrooms and the kitchen.
Additionally, many professional cleaning companies, like Office Pride, invest in technology such as electrostatic sprayers and misters, which efficiently and evenly apply disinfectants throughout common areas, personal spaces and hard-to-reach corners and crevices.
Finally, because commercial cleaning professionals have more training and better equipment, they can clean your office more thoroughly and quickly than an in-house team or employees could. Professionals are more efficient, and efficiency impacts your bottom line.
Can cleaning and disinfecting help keep us safer at work?
Yes, it can. Office Pride cleans with the health and wellness of our customers as a priority. Regular cleaning helps to remove the dirt you can see, like mud on the carpet or dust on a countertop. Traditional cleaning methods sanitize surfaces and keep your office looking good.
The disinfection process kills germs you cannot see – including the viruses that cause COVID-19, the flu and other respiratory illnesses. Commercial-grade disinfectants, like the ones Office Pride uses, can eliminate up to 99% of germs. Our professional cleaners apply disinfectants to surfaces throughout your office in several ways, most commonly by wiping down high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches and sinks; or, by using electrostatic sprayers in areas that manual cleaning methods cannot reach.
An important note is that cleaning and disinfecting work best together. You must first clean the surface and then apply disinfectant and allow it to remain on the surface for the recommended dwell time.
Should we have cleaners here during the workday?
This is a decision your company must make for itself. Naturally, you don’t want to disrupt workflow by having someone vacuum the carpet under someone’s desk while they are making a sales call!
However, consider the peace of mind of knowing your employer is making a clean, safe work environment a priority. Your employees and customers will appreciate knowing that you care enough to hire professional cleaners to help keep them well. A good compromise might be scheduling your cleaning crew to start just before the end of the day, or do a midday sweep through the office to wipe down surfaces and sanitize the restrooms, in addition to the normal janitorial work scheduled for the evenings.
Whenever you decide is best, and whatever services you choose for your office or building, the work of cleaning is best left to the professionals.
