Dust, pollen, mud, snow and dirt are just a few of the seasonal substances that might hitch a ride on the bottom of your customers’ shoes this spring. Those substances can leave a lasting and detrimental impression on your company’s carpets and reputation if you aren’t diligent about your cleaning schedule.
Clean floors are among the most often cited metrics in customer satisfaction surveys. So why not give your customers what they want and make a dazzling and lasting impression in the process?

Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean harmful germs aren’t lodged in your office carpets.
Foot traffic leaves its mark on the carpets in an office. The carpets can act like a sponge for dirt, dust, bacteria and other debris that can come in on employees’ and customers’ feet as they walk through your office. If you don’t have these carpets cleaned regularly, it can cause health problems.
Many employees, out of convenience, will eat at their desks. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, accidents happen. Crumbs fall on the floor. Liquids spill. And, of course, those lovely rollers on the bottoms of office chairs are great at grinding that into your carpet. Over time, food can accumulate in your carpets and cause mold to grow, along with the odoriferous smells of bygone meals.
But wait, that’s not all. What you can’t see can hurt you, your employees and customers. And it can dwell in the bottom layer of your carpet. In addition to the bacteria, your carpets can also harbor other harmful pathogens like mildew, staphylococcus, norovirus, salmonella and E. coli. If not treated regularly, this can have a significant impact on health in and around your office.
In a given year, the average person sheds about 1.5 pounds of skin. Think about how much time your employees spend in the office or how much time customers are in your store. Then do the math – and think about how much of that ends up within your office space. If that isn’t bad enough, shedding skin also attracts mites and microscopic fleas, which can live in your carpets. Thorough vacuuming can help reduce the impact; periodic deep cleaning is needed to maintain cleanliness.
Hiring a professional cleaner is an important step in protecting your office, employees and customers from harmful exposure to preventable pathogens. Nonprofessionals are more apt to cause damage from not knowing the proper chemicals to use for particular carpets or from using the wrong equipment.
