Office Pride’s Todd Hopkins Speaks at Leadership Prayer Breakfast

TAMPA, Fla. (April 9, 2019) – Todd Hopkins, founder and president/CEO of Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services, talked about how the definition of success has evolved for him in the keynote address at the 49th Annual Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast.
Hopkins said his first entrepreneurial venture was when he sold gum-balls in elementary school. Soon afterward, he and his brother, Troy, began selling black-eyed peas out of their pea patch.
Years later, Hopkins developed the concept for Office Pride while in graduate school, and he started the company in 1992. He worked out of his home, signing customers during the day and cleaning during the evenings. Today, Office Pride is a faith-based, nationally acclaimed franchise with 137 franchises.
“I still want to be successful,” Hopkins said. “But God has redefined what success looks like for me. Success is no longer about making the most money selling gum balls, black-eyed peas or cleaning services. True success is about me doing what God created me to do and becoming who he created me to be.”
Hopkins spoke at the Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast on April 4 at Armature Works in Tampa. Hosted by the Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC), the Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast began in 1971 and has featured a number of prominent national speakers, including Danny Wuerffel, Bobby Bowden, Truett Cathy and Tony Dungy.
CBMC area director Dan Shock said, “The mission of CBMC is to connect businessmen to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and develop Christian businessmen to carry out the Great Commission. At the Tampa Bay Leadership Prayer Breakfast, Todd Hopkins did just that. We praise God for Todd’s faithful testimony that Jesus saved him and still saves men today.”
Hopkins has written or co-written four books, including his most recent, “The Stress Less Business Owner – 10 Guiding Disciplines for a Stress Less Business and Life.” His book “The Janitor – How an Unexpected Friendship Transformed a CEO and His Company,” co-written with Ray Hilbert, has sold more than 600,000 copies and been published in 10 languages.
Hopkins holds a bachelor’s of business administration in management from the University of Memphis and an MBA from Butler University. He is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Birthing of Giants Executive Entrepreneurship Academy, a prestigious program for top entrepreneurs. He has been involved with CBMC for 30 years and serves on its national board of directors. He also serves on the Building Service Contractors Association International’s board of directors as president-elect.
