Meet the Owner: Sheri Marshall

Office Pride of Richmond-Sandston

Sheri Marshall

Sheri and Roger Marshall are the owner-operators of Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services of Richmond-Sandston.

Office Pride of Richmond-Sandston provides a full range of routine janitorial and commercial cleaning services to medical offices, churches, property management companies, industrial facilities and more in the Richmond and Sandston areas.

The franchise offers specialty flooring services, including strip and refinish, scrub and recoat, buffing, machine scrubbing and carpet cleaning.

“We want to provide a high-quality janitorial service to our customers consistently over the long term,” Sheri Marshall says. “We measure success not by how many customers we attain but rather, by how many customers we retain.”

The Marshalls purchased their Office Pride franchise in April 2014. Sheri serves as the general manager and Roger oversees floor and carpet maintenance. Previously, Sheri was an account manager with a global outsourcing company specializing in business support services in the corporate legal industry. She managed a portfolio of accounts with a revenue of $5 million to $15 million. Roger owned and operated an over-the-road trucking company.

Daughter Sarah Martin also is involved in the business as an area manager.

Office Pride of Richmond-Sandston has earned a number of awards and recognition from Office Pride and other organizations. Within the Office Pride system, the franchise has received five consecutive Standards of Excellence Awards for the promotion of core values, sales growth, revenue retention, engagement and reporting (2016-2021); a Half-Million Dollar Club Award (2021); the Salt and Light award for community service (2019); a Customer Satisfaction award (2016); and a Customer Retention award (2015).

Additionally, Sheri Marshall was named to Franchise Business Review™’s “Rock Star Franchise Owners” in 2020. In 2018, she also received Henrico County Mental Health Services’ Partnership Recognition Award for her commitment to hiring people with disabilities. In addition, she works with other local nonprofits to provide jobs to people who are homeless, on parole and working to get their lives back on track, and in drug and alcohol recovery programs.

She says, “I have learned so much with Office Pride about how to be kind to people. God has given me great empathy for other people – especially those who live with challenges, whether they be mental health or physical, the homeless or single moms.”

The Marshalls belong to Elko Union Church and are involved in community outreach programs there. Roger Marshall is a lifetime member of EMC Spotsylvania Fire Department Company 4 and former volunteer firefighter.
