Cleaning University Baptist Church: A Case Study

Office Pride of Fayetteville-Bentonville

Maintaining a Multi-Building Church

University Baptist Church is one of the largest churches in Fayetteville, with a multi-building campus exceeding 110,000 square feet. The campus includes a worship sanctuary, chapel, administrative offices, Christian school, classrooms, youth areas, nursery, preschool, and various ministry spaces. For church leadership, facility condition is not secondary—it directly supports the mission. A clean, well-maintained environment allows worshippers to focus, prevents distraction, and creates a welcoming experience for members, guests, and families. For this reason, the church requires consistent, high-quality facility management across a complex, multi-building campus.

The Challenges

Prior to engaging Office Pride, the church attempted to maintain the entire campus with:
• One full-time cleaner
• One part-time student

This approach created several challenges:
• Inconsistent cleaning quality across buildings
• Difficulty maintaining high-traffic areas (sanctuary, restrooms)
• Insufficient attention to detail in classrooms and children’s areas
• Limited ability to manage a complex, multi-building environment

The campus layout—spread across multiple buildings—created operational complexity, especially for new staff.

Our Approach

We approached this as a complex facility system, not a simple cleaning assignment.

Operational Design

• Developed a detailed, building-specific scope of work
• Structured cleaning schedules by area and usage patterns
• Designed workflows for a multi-building, “maze-like” campus
• Aligned scope with church leadership expectations

Since different areas required service on different days, the plan required intentional sequencing and coordination.
Most companies attempt to clean buildings. We design systems to manage them.

Execution & Solutions

From the beginning, we focused on continuous improvement through partnership with church leadership.

• Regular communication with church leadership
• Ongoing refinement of scope based on feedback
• Direct relationship with the Operations Pastor

Over the years, the primary driver of success has been:

Refining the system to match the church’s expectations, not forcing a static program.

Special Considerations

The children’s areas require a higher standard of cleaning due to safety and health considerations.

Key priorities include:
• Removal of debris (paint, glitter, food, gum, etc.)
• Clean, sanitary restrooms
• Safe floor conditions to prevent ingestion risks
• Consistent detail cleaning for child safety

This requires:
• Higher inspection standards
• More detailed training
• Greater attention to consistency

A Disciplined Execution

Inspection System
• Manager-led inspections at least twice per week
• Weekly review of inspection scores in management meetings

Account Management
• Monthly Tier 1 Client Report including:

    • Labor hours
    • Employee performance
    • Client feedback
    • Service issues and improvements

• Regular client visits and communication

Training & Development
• Detailed training for all team members assigned to the facility
• Emphasis on:

    • Area-specific expectations
    • Attention to detail
    • Consistency across multiple building types
  • Ongoing re-inspection and coaching

Results

• Over 7 years of continuous partnership
• Consistent, high-quality cleaning across a complex campus
• Strong relationship with church leadership
• Ability to adapt and refine service over time

• Reliable support of the church’s daily operations and mission

Today, the facility is maintained as a structured, well-managed system, not a reactive cleaning effort. This consistency allows
church leadership to focus on ministry, not facility issues.
What began as a staffing challenge became a fully systematized operation.
