At Office Pride of San Antonio-Helotes, serving our community means more than providing dependable commercial cleaning services. It means showing up for our neighbors, supporting local organizations, and putting our core values into action. On August 27, our team had the privilege of volunteering with the San Antonio Food Bank, helping prepare meals for individuals and families throughout the greater San Antonio area.
This experience gave our team an opportunity to step outside our daily responsibilities, work together for a meaningful cause, and contribute to an organization making a difference in our community.
A Day of Teamwork and Community Service
Our volunteer experience began with a delicious Greek lunch, giving everyone a chance to connect and recharge before getting to work.
Once the activities began, our team eagerly stepped in to assist the Food Bank staff with meal preparation and packaging. Throughout the day, our volunteers helped with several important tasks, including:
- Scooping, wrapping, and packaging prepared entrees.
- Counting, cutting, and packing pita bread.
- Organizing and packing mandarin orange cups for distribution the following day.
Every task contributed to the Food Bank’s efforts to provide meals to community members facing food insecurity.
Damaris, Carmela, and the rest of our Office Pride team worked together to support the Food Bank staff, demonstrating the same dedication, reliability, and teamwork we strive to bring to our customers every day.
Putting Our Core Values Into Action
Community involvement is an important reflection of who we are at Office Pride of San Antonio-Helotes. Our participation in this event was especially meaningful because it allowed us to demonstrate two of our company’s guiding values: “Go the Extra Mile” and “Persevere with a Servant’s Attitude.”
These principles extend beyond our professional responsibilities. Whether maintaining a commercial facility, helping a fellow team member, or volunteering to prepare meals, we believe every opportunity to serve deserves our full effort.
Our faith also plays an important role in this commitment. Colossians 3:23 encourages us to approach our work wholeheartedly, as service to the Lord. That message inspires our team to lead with humility, remain dependable, and make a positive impact wherever we can.
Proud to Support the San Antonio Community
We are grateful to the San Antonio Food Bank for welcoming our volunteers and allowing us to contribute to its mission. Organizations like the Food Bank play an essential role in supporting families across San Antonio and the surrounding communities, and we are honored to have participated in its efforts.
We also want to thank every Office Pride team member who dedicated their time and energy to making this volunteer day a success. As an added celebration of everyone’s commitment, we held a special drawing for a “Servant’s Heart” gift basket. Congratulations to Carmela, our lucky winner!
At Office Pride of San Antonio-Helotes, we are proud to serve the community we call home. We look forward to finding more opportunities to give back, strengthen local relationships, and continue making a difference throughout San Antonio and Helotes.
