Meet the Owner: Lee and Melissa Weeks
Office Pride of Huntsville
Lee Weeks says when he bought the Office Pride of Huntsville franchise, he was seeking to control his own destiny. “I wanted to do something on my own where I would get out of it what I put into it.”Lee Weeks says when he bought the Office Pride of Huntsville franchise, he was seeking to control his own destiny. “I want to grow my own business where I can get out of it what I put into it.”
He purchased the franchise in January 2015 and has put his heart into Office Pride ever since. He humbly acknowledges he has been honored by the company’s highest awards, including being named multiple times for Standards of Excellence, Office Pride’s Franchisee of the Year for 2018 and Integrity Award for 2019.
Weeks is director of operations for Office Pride of North Alabama, Inc. He works alongside his wife, Melissa, who is the administrative manager – or, as Lee fondly calls her – “chief morale officer.” The couple and their three daughters live in Huntsville. They attend Rivertree Baptist Church and are members of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce and the local chapters of the International Facility Management Association, the Building Owners and Managers Association and C-12. Lee also was a member of the Office Pride Franchise Advisory Council from 2018-2021.
Office Pride of Huntsville provides janitorial services for all professional and commercial spaces. The franchise also offers excellent floor care services for commercial facilities.
“Our vision is to be recognized as the best and most respected commercial cleaning company in our market, in terms of both service and employment,” he says. “Not the biggest, necessarily, but the best, with a reputation for quality work and being true to our core values.”
An Alabama native, Weeks attended Valdosta State University and worked as a multiunit district manager for Lowe’s and then Tractor Supply Co. for over 17 years before his position was downsized. He knew that in the next phase of his career, he wanted more control over his future. “After I learned about Office Pride and how it aligned with my personal beliefs and values, I was really excited to join the company,” he says. “And we have been very fortunate.”
In 2017, Weeks won three of the company’s top awards: the Customer Service Award, given to the franchisee with the highest satisfaction ratings from their customers; the Standards of Excellence Award, presented to the top 10 percent of high-performing franchisees; and the Two Million Dollar Club Award, for owners who billed at least $2 million in a calendar year.
In 2018, Weeks beat his own achievement and was honored to a second Standards of Excellence Award, joined the Three Million Dollar Club, and was named Franchisee of the Year.
In 2019, Weeks received the Standards of Excellence Award, the Four Million Dollar Club Award and the Integrity Award. The Integrity Award is considered the highest honor and is given to someone who reflects all that Office Pride stands for such as honesty, integrity, servant’s attitude and honoring God.
In 2020, Weeks received the Standards of Excellence and Four Million Dollar Club Awards.
In 2021, he again received the Four Million Dollar Club Award.
On winning the awards, he says: “It validates our efforts. It’s nice to be recognized by your company and your peers. But really, it’s also a challenge to continue to move the needle and get better.”
