Meet the Owner: Chris Middleton

Office Pride of Muncie-Old West End

Chris Middleton

Chris Middleton is the owner of Office Pride of Noblesville-Fishers, Ind., Office Pride of Muncie-Old West End, Ind., and Office Pride of Chattanooga-Lake Hills, Tenn., independently owned and operated commercial cleaning franchises.

“As the franchise owner, I work on developing my leadership team and overseeing the financial well-being of the company,” Middleton says. “I create a vision for our future and guide the team to make smart goals to achieve that vision.”

Middleton, a two-time Office Pride Franchise of the Year winner, worked as a supervisor and manager in the auto industry before deciding to start his own business with Office Pride. He opened the Noblesville franchise in 2009, adding the Muncie franchise in 2015 and the Chattanooga location in 2017.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Trine University.

Middleton’s franchises offer a full range of cleaning services to offices, medical facilities, call centers, financial centers, multi-tenant buildings and manufacturing facilities. In addition, they offer various specialty services such as hot water carpet extraction, floor stripping and waxing, deep cleaning and sanitization, disinfection and electrostatic spray treatment, which is effective in disinfecting common areas, personal spaces and hard-to-reach corners and crevices. Electrostatic sprayers are vital in the fight against the spread of germs that cause COVID-19, flu and other respiratory illnesses.

“We do it all,” Middleton says. “We do a great job with floor care, especially. Customers tend to forget floors need more than mopping and vacuuming, so we focus on taking care of their floors.”

Middleton is proud of the family-oriented, faith-based culture that exists in his Office Pride business. “My philosophy is to take good care of and love our employees, and they will take good care of our customers,” he says. “We have built a team with low turnover, which has led to consistency in our cleaning and loyal customers.”

In addition to his Office Pride franchises, Middleton is part owner in another franchise system and holds a small equity stake in another business startup.

“I’m a very driven person, and that certainly helps me to be successful,” he says. “However, I had to learn many lessons along the way that God wanted to teach me to help me move forward along the journey.”

He and his wife of more than 30 years, Kim, live in Noblesville and enjoy boating, concerts and spending time with their family. They have four adult sons.
